Alex Cohen is the lead broadcaster for the Iowa Cubs, Triple-A Affiliate for the Chicago Cubs and has filled in on Chicago Cubs Spring Training Radio and TV broadcasts since 2018.

With the I-Cubs, his games can be found on AM 940 in Des Moines, with select games Marquee Sports Network in the Chicago metro.

As part of his broadcast responsibilities, Alex hosts the pregame and postgame shows and conducts interviews with coaches, players, guests, and sponsors.

His notable guests include hall-of-famers Lee Smith and Andre Dawson, former and current all-stars Kris Bryant and Bernie Williams and even US Presidential Candidates such as Joe Biden, Beto O’Rourke, and Pete Buttigieg during Caucus season.

Off-air, Cohen is an Account Executive, managing corporate sales accounts, and serves as an organizational spokesperson. He also handles team travel during the season.

In addition to his MiLB experience, Cohen has called games around the world. He has been part of the broadcast team for the World Baseball and Softball Confederation since 2015, calling two Premier 12 tournaments and the 2018 U-23 tournament in Taiwan, Japan, and Colombia. He’s also broadcasted a season with the Melbourne Aces of the Australian Baseball League.

In all, the 34-year-old has worked in baseball since 2009, broadcasting more than 1,500 baseball games at the affiliated and international levels.

Along with his baseball duties, Cohen fills in as a sports talk and podcast host with 1460 KXNO in Des Moines. He also freelances broadcasting football, basketball, softball and gymnastics for Marquee Sports Network and collegiately for Iowa State University and Drake University on ESPN+. Alex has also held fill-in roles for Baylor University and Rutgers University on Big Ten Network+ and Learfield/IMG.

Cohen graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a B.A. in Journalism.
